Bo expands its brokerage operations in Spain – Team set to double this fall

Bo LKV, a leader in the real estate market, launched its first international office in March 2024 in Puerto Banús, Marbella. The office is led by Anne Ramsay, who relocated from Finland and is recognized as one of the top brokers in the Helsinki area. She is also known as the host of Love It or List It Finland. The office is now expanding rapidly, with six agents set to serve clients in Spain.

‘The spring season was incredibly busy and inspiring,’ Anne shares. ‘There’s clearly a strong demand for high-quality holiday homes in Spain. We’ve embraced a modern approach, and over a thousand people have joined our spring webinars or downloaded our guides online. It’s great to see that our clients have found us here, and we’ve already closed several sales.’

Since March, a three-person team has been assisting clients in Marbella. Anne Ramsay moved from Finland, while Timo Maunula and Liina Heinonen were already based on the Costa del Sol. ‘What’s fantastic about Spain is that we can help our Finnish clients with their purchases for free. The commission is, as in Finland, covered by the seller. What’s unique here is that we can show virtually any property listed on the market,’ comments Liina Heinonen.

This fall, the team will double in size as three more experienced agents join Bo’s Marbella office. Mari Melander, a respected name in the Costa del Sol real estate market, has been working in the area for decades. Since moving to the Costa del Sol in 1998, she has built a vast network of international clients and local professionals. Mari is fluent in Finnish, Swedish, English, and Spanish, and she has recently worked with the well-known Swedish firm Bjurfors. Anna-Kaisa Vartiainen, a successful broker with experience in both the Helsinki area and the Costa del Sol, is joining the team in the fall. Laura Mitrunen, one of Bo’s experienced brokers from the Helsinki region, has relocated to the Costa del Sol with her family and will continue to serve her clients with dedication in Spain. ‘We’re thrilled to have three top professionals joining our team to support our clients,’ says Anne.

The Costa del Sol property market remains surprisingly resilient to broader economic trends in Europe, with no sign of price drops. Timo Maunula, who has been working in real estate on the Costa del Sol for five years, attributes the price stability to major trends: ‘The aging and retirement of Europe’s middle class, combined with the growing remote work opportunities for younger generations, are strong drivers for Spain’s real estate market and price growth,’ Timo explains.
